What To Expect When You Visit

 

The Gananoque & Area Food Bank provides approximately 7-days of food each month to individuals and families in need living in our area.

 

Our goal is to provide you with safe and nutritious food which meets your dietary needs and food preferences at the best quality food we can obtain.

 

You will be treated with the utmost dignity and respect.

 

You will receive food and other assistance regardless of race, nationality or ethnic origin, citizenship, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, income source, age or mental or physical ability.

 

Your personal information will be maintained with complete respect and remain confidential by all members of the Gananoque & Area Food Bank.

 

Whether you are new or returning to the Food Bank there will be a confidential intake process.

 

Information required to present to the Intake Clerk:

​

  •    1 form of Identification.

For example:

  •    Birth Certificate

  •    Driver’s License

  •    Photo ID for individuals over 18.

​

•Proof of address / residency, for everyone over the age of 18 living in the household.

  • Driver’s license

  • Any type of bill that has your name and address.

​

​

You will be asked to provide information about your primary source of income, the number in your household and any special needs of the family.

​

If you have registered in the past then your information will be on file and can be updated.

​​

Note: Every 6 months you will be required to update your file.

The process will take place on the day that is your appointed day.

ID will be required for all persons in the household.

​

All personal information will be kept private and safe.

​

After your intake is completed, a Volunteer will assist in helping with your grocery shop.

​

There may at times be free items that can be taken. Some items may have a limit.

Every Third (3rd) Thursday of the Month 5pm -7pm
